Parts List

Hardware included

1/4" space between slats
Caution: Rarely, but occasionally a knot may be in the path of a screw. If
this happens the knot will have to be pre-drilled with a 1/8" bit, or screw
may break off.

Step 2: Next take the lower canoe #4 and temporarily attach
to bases as show in photo. No need to tighten the screws all the way.
This is to keep the two bases 20" apart front to back. Glue & attach
the 5 remaining #3 seat slats 1/4" apart. Then attach the half round
seat #6. Remove lower canoe.

Note: Loveseat
Instructions are the same as the chair, with the
exception that seat slats re 40" long and there are 7 extra middle back
slats. There is an additional half length base that supports the
middle of the seats slats.
51 - 1 5/8" screws
12 - 2 1/2" screws

Assembly sequence: layout all parts as illustrated above

Step 1: Take a #1 left & right base supports and glue
& attach 1- #3 seat slat to the front edge of both bases, using 1 5/8"
screws.

Note: Big Boy
Instructions same as chair with the exception there is
1 extra middle back slat.
43 - 1 1/8" screws
14 - 2" screws
10 - 2" screws
4 - 3" screws

Step 4: Turn base with legs attached right side up and
rotate legs so bottom of legs are level with floor. Screw on nuts snuggly,
but not tight. You will most likely have to rotate legs later in the
assembly process.

Step 6: Take the #4 lower canoe with the #5 back slats
attached and glue and screw the canoe / backrest assembly to the #1 bases
using 2 - 1 5/8" screws on each side. Looks like the second photo after
attaching back rest.
Pre-drilled holes on inside

Step 8: Put glue on top of back legs. Take middle
canoe #10and position so pre-drilled holes are directly over top of back
legs. Back of canoe slightly over hangs back edge of leg. Put 1
- 2" screw in each end, then put the other 2" screw in each end.
Use middle canoe as a temporary support
Step 3: Apply glue around bolt hole and attach #2 left and
right legs to bases using bolts, washers and nuts. Counter sunk
pre-drilled holes at the top of the legs are on the inside of the leg when
attached to the base.
Pre-drilled holes on inside of front legs.

FINISHED
Step 12: Fan the outside back rest slats
out beyond the middle canoe by 1/4". Screw a 3" screw into ends of middle
canoe into the outside back rest slats. Evenly space rest of back
rests and screw 5 - 2 1/2" screws into five remaining seat backs.
Attach #12 top canoe approximately 5 1/2" above middle canoe.
Toe nail screw in front & back edge of leg
Step 11: (A) While pushing down on top of arm with hand,
screw a 3" screw up thru arm support. Making sure the back end of the
arm rest is touching the side of the back leg, toe nail a 2 1/2" screw thru
top front & back edge of front leg into arm rest.
(B) Put 2" screw into back arm rest support.
(C) 2 - 1 5/8" screws into side of back leg into arm rest.
Now, finish tightening bolts on front legs & putting 2nd screw in
bottom of back legs.
Step 10: (A) Put lots of glue on top of front legs. Wipe up
runs with wet rag later.
(B) Place right arm on top of leg and rear support. (C)
Back end of arm is flush with back edge of back leg. (D) 1"
overhang on inside of front leg.
Top of back support is 20" from floor
Top of back support is between these two holes on other side of leg.
Flush with top of leg
Step 9: Glue and attach #7 front arm supports at the top,
center, on the outside of front legs using two screws on the inside of the
leg. Now attach rear arm support #11 to outside of back
leg. Top support is 20" from floor. Support is not centered on
width of leg.
(see dashed line)
overhang slightly
Pre-drilled holes on top
Center seat slats on lower canoe
Step 5: No Glue. Take #4 lower canoe and attach 7 - #5 back
slats to canoe. Center back slats on canoe. Make sure counter sunk holes on
canoe are on top side, not on bottom.
(You can use “middle
canoe” #10 to temporarily hold up the top end of back slats while positioning
and screwing lower end of slats onto lower canoe. 18” between lower canoe and
middle canoe) Make sure there is a nice rounded
curve on top of back slats when slats are fanned out before screwing slats
to lower canoe. The pieces should be touching at the bottom. Use 2" screws.
Step 7: Attaching back legs #8. There is a left and
right back leg. Position bottom of leg within the lines drawn on the
inside of the base. Top of leg slopes away from back rest.
Only fasten each leg with one screw for now.
